Day 26 - Love Birds

The two left the bathroom hand and hand. They had professed their love for one another and decided that they could easily be together forever. They were going to start their life together. They stopped off to tell Woody II the good news, and he was elated for them. They made the rounds throughout the house and told Blarney and Cash and Carter as well. When they told everyone, they returned to the couch. They watched the box some across the room, and Ducky snuggled up next to Woody. Woody looked into his loves eyes and scooped her up at once. He kissed her sweetly and told her he would love her forever until he was no more.

Day 25 - Love Can Not Wait

Woody couldnt keep it in any longer. When he woke up the next morning he leapt to his feet and ran in the direction he watched Ducky go the night before. He walked toward the open door and saw what Ducky had described to her. It was the bathroom, and Ducky would be inside. He stood in the doorway trying to figure out what to tell her, what he could say that would express all he was feeling. He peered inside and saw her perched atop the sink. He stood there for a minute admiring her beauty as a smile grew across his face. Without hesitation he went inside and ran to her. Before she could say a word he lifted her up and kissed her gently. Fireworks went off in their heads and they were happier than at that moment.

Day 24 - Sad

While Ducky was off in dreamland living the life she never thought she might have, Woody was home, sad, thinking of Ducky. It had only been a couple hours, but he already missed her. He was slightly scared at these feelings, he never felt something like this before, and didnt exactly know what it all meant. However, at this point, he didnt care what it meant, he just knew he missed her, and he was quite certain, he loved her. He was excited, but sad cause she wasnt there. He wanted to tell her how he felt, tell her that he wanted to be with her, but how? He sat there, sad and confused, yet determined inside to make it work.

Day 23 - Home

After their date Woody and Ducky said goodnight and Ducky headed home. She hadnt been there in days and she wanted to soak. After a long hot bath she dried her feathers and sat up on the sink. She couldnt help but think about Woody. She couldnt get him out of her mind and a part of her didnt want to. She liked thinking about him... imagining how things could be between the two. What if they fall in love, would he even consider being with a duck forever? Could they have children together? Could they even live a normal life, a duck and a wood man? Why not? It's 2006, anything was possible. She slept that night like a baby, all the while dreaming about her and Woody living a wonderful, happy life together... forever!

Day 22 - Another Date

Woody and Ducky enjoyed their first date so much, they decided quickly that a second date was in order. This one a little more casual. Ducky took Woody to the place on the couch where she found the magic button. Luck would have it the control thing was still there. She stood on the button and the box came on. The cute new couple pulled up a spot on the table in front of the box and cuddled up next to each other. Ducky felt safe with Woody, like he would never let anything bad happen to her, and she liked that. Ducky didnt want to get her hopes up, but she had a good feeling about Woody, and little did she know, he was thinking the same thing about her at that exact moment. The movie was good, but the company was better!

Day 21 - The First Date

After they talked some, Ducky expressed that she was feeling a little tired, so Woody II told her that the shelf below him was free, and she was more than welcome to stay there. Woody helped her down and she stayed the night on the third shelf. Woody stayed with Woody II up on the top. Woody told Woody II how much he liked Ducky, and was confident that their relationship could progress. The next morning Woody woke up Ducky and after they said goodbye to Woody II they left the shelf and headed back to the outdoors. They spent some time looking at the world passing them by and continued getting to know each other. Woody then looked over at Ducky, and with all the care in the world he asked her, "Ducky, would you like to have dinner with me tonight?" She graciously accepted and they were off on their first date. Although Woody had no actual mouth to eat, he placed his lips next to the food for effect. Ducky giggled at his effort, and the two began to laugh in spite of themselves. They sat in front of their pasta by candle light and gazed into each others eyes. It was the best night they had ever had.

Day 20 - The Intro's

Ducky and Woody were off to meet Woody two. Ducky walks a little slower than Woody, but he didnt mind, it allowed the trip to carry on a little longer, which gave him more time to get to know her. He asked all the usual "getting-to-know-you" questions and she responded enthusiastically. The conversation flowed quite easily and they were both so comfortable with each other that everything worked seamlessly. They continued on, and finally reached the tower where Woody II sits. Woody helped Ducky climb the tower, but Ducky being independent only accepted his help because she knew he was just trying to be sweet. They finally made it to the top and Woody II was there waiting. When he saw Ducky up close he jumped for joy and ran to hug her. He knelt down beside her and Woody commenced with the introductions. It was an exciting day for all.

Day 19 - They Meet

As fate would have it, Ducky found Woody before he could find her. Woody was amazed, he had no sooner stopped thinking about her (without even realizing it) and then there she was. It wasnt until he saw her that he even realized what his original plan had been. But now that he was looking at her, he was so happy and so excited, as was she. "I've been looking for you" he said to her. "You have?" she asked. "For days, and now here you are" he said. "But how did you even know about me?" she asked. "My friend Woody saw you, you have to meet him, you'll love him, and we've been so anxious to meet you" he explained with such excitement. "Well I'm Ducky, and you are?" she asked. "Woody, its an honor to meet you Ducky" he said. "But I thought you said your friend was Woody?" she enquired confusingly. "He is, we both are! HA-HA" he said. "Come on, I'll take you to him" he said. "Let's go, I cant wait" she said. Woody instantly realized how amazing Ducky was, and something inside her told her he was too.

Day 18 - No Fear

After Ducky's nap, she was off again to roam the apartment. As she left the couch and turned a corner she saw a ray of light that she hadnt noticed before. The large door she had seen behind the turtle tank had been opened. Who opened it? Had the caretaker come home while she was sleeping? As you moved closer she didnt see the caretaker, so her curiosity became even more heightened. See continued toward the light and as she stepped outside the warmth of the sun hit her pale skin and she felt suddenly more alive then ever before. She continued out and looked around. She didnt notice him at first, but she somehow felt like she wasnt alone. She looked up and there he was... a little man, much smaller than any human she had seen, which confused her. Who was he, what was he? she was determined to get up there, introduce herself and find out who this was. She had no fear and it showed!

Day 17 - The Great Outdoors

Woody was left with no idea on where to go to look for the young duck... but he saw something that caught his eye. It was a very bright light shining from beyond the large door. He gathered up all his strength and was surprisingly able to move the door enough to wedge himself around it. What he saw on the other side amazed him to his delight. He looked up and he looked all around and the beauty that surrounded him was like nothing he had ever seen. Blues and greens, a crisp air that felt clean and brisk. He climbed as high as he could to soak it all in. All of this, he knew, was what people lived for, and he could experience it too... he had never been happier. He was so consumed by everything around him that he totally forgot about Ducky.

Day 16 - Getting Closer

As Woody made his way towrd the direction Blarney pointed him in, he felt confident that he was going to him Ducky in no time. When he reached a second tank, he thought maybe she would be inside, but instead he found something much different. Two baby turtles were basking in the lights from above warming their bodies on they rock. As Woody laid on top of the lid over the tank he looked down on the little creatures who calming looked up back at them. "Hello up there" said Carter. "Oh hi, how are you?" asked Woody. "We're good, can we help you with something?" said the other turtle, Cash. "Have you seen a duck come by here?" asked Woody. "We have, she's a delightful young Duck, although she did startle me" exclaimed Cash, "I would assume you would like to know which way she went, no?" "Yes, please" said Woody. At the same time both Carter and Cash said, "Down that way". Unfortunately for Woody, they each pointed in a different direction. "Wait, which way?" asked Woody. And again, they both pointed in opposite ways. Carter and Cash began to argue over who was right, but Woody was far too excited. "Nevermind, I appreciate your help, I'll find her" he stated with confidence and he climbed down from the tank and continued on his way leaving the turtle brothers to continue arguing on their own.

Day 15 - Almost There

After climbing down the shelves in search of this young Duck that Woody II told him about, he was excited but didnt know where to begin. He had already been to the kitchen, but what if she was there now? He ran into the kitchen looking for her, but she was not there. He continued on. As he ran into the next room, he looked behind every door, every knick-knack, and still no duck. When he heard the sound of running water, he had a feeling that if he followed the sound he might just find the duck. Instead he found Blarney, a goldfish in his own little tank. He took a minute to meet with the little guy and was glad he did. "I'm Woody" he said. "Nice to meet you Woody, I'm Blarney. I tell ya, this must be my lucky week, two visitors!!" Blareny said. "Two?" asked Woody. "Well yeah, I met a cute little Ducky just the other day" he said. "You did? Which way did she go?" he asked. "Straight ahead" said Blarney. "Thanks buddy... I gotta run, i'll see you soon..." as Woody left he shouted back to Blarney... "Thanks again!!!!!"

Day 14 - The Box

As Ducky jumped out of the turtle tank and onto the couch, she landed on a rectangular thing with lots of buttons. She wondered what it was and when she moved forward one of the buttons moved. With the move of the button, a box across the room lit up and started talking. Amazed by what she saw, Ducky moved in for a closer look. She wasnt sure what was happening in the box, but it was mesmorizing. She sat there for hours watching the people change, new plots for each, and loved every minute of it. She would have stayed there all day, but she started to get sleepy, and decided it was time to move on. She went back to the couch she had fallen on and took a little nap. She needed to rest up for more adventures later on.

Day 13 - Turtle Town

As Ducky continued on her own exploration around her caretaker's home, she came across another water box... this time, a larger one. Considering it was larger, she figured she would join whatever was in inside, given the fact that she could swim. She climbed on in and swam around, but didnt find anything swimming with her... odd she thought, so she swam up onto a ledge to see what she could find from above. She still didnt see anything, so she turned around to go back into the water and continue on her trek, when there was something on the log with her. "Wow, you startled me... nice markings!! Who are you" asked Ducky. "I'm Cash, nice to meet you. That's my brother over there, Carter... we're turtles, what are you?" asked Cash. "Umm, I'm a duck" said Ducky. "Really??? Hmm... never heard of your kind... what are you doing here?" asked Cash. "Just touring the home... sorry to bother you" said Ducky. "No bother, just curious. You're welcome anytime" said Cash. "Well thank you, but I should be on my way. Talk to you soon though" said Ducky as she left. "Bye, nice to meet you" called Cash behind her. And Ducky was off to continue her journey. The little turtle was a fiesty thing, but she liked his honesty... her kind of animal!!

Day 12 - The Return

Woody just couldn't wait to tell Woody II about the food that he found. He figured he could take a quick detour back to Woody II before continuing his exploration. It was on the way after all. He made the climb up the shelves again, this time without any problems, and before he could even say hello, Woody II jumped in excitement, "Did you see her, did you Woody?" he asked. "What are you talking about Woody? Who are you talking about?" he asked. "I saw this beautiful young duck waddle by below me. I called to her, but she didnt hear me. I was hoping you would come back soon so I could tell you, or if maybe you met her already" Woodly exclaimed in excitement. "I didnt, but I wish I did. Wow Woody, I'm excited... I better get back down there. Which way did she go?" Woody asked. "She headed straight on!!" Woody II pointed. "Great Woody... i'll be back soon, and maybe I can bring her with me, that is, if I find her" said Woody. "Good luck buddy!" said the other woody, and Woody was on his way back down the shelves.

Day 11 - The Sighting

Woody II was sitting on his "perch" whistling a little diddy, when he spotted something down below. He thought for a second his new friend changed his mind, but as he looked closer he could tell that it was not the other Woody. It was a female, and she was much shorter. Another new entity. He had been sitting up there for years and had never seen anyone... now he has come across two others in the same week. This was exciting for Woody II as he was a "people person" who loved interaction. He tried shouting down to her, but she was moving quickly and must not have heard him. He couldnt wait for Woody to return to tell him about her, and hoped that maybe he had already met her by the time he came back!! Or, perhaps, this pretty little thing would find her way to meet him as Woody had. Either way, he was excited for the activity he was viewing!

Day 10 - Exploration

Woody was very excited to have a new friend, but he parted ways with Woody II for while in search of others. He asked Woody II to come with him, but he was quite content to stay where he was. Woody assured him he would be back to visit soon. Woody climbed down the structure with much care given his last experience and was off again to explore the caretakers home. He turned a corner and found an interesting room, very open, well lit, and with what seemed, a room full of doors... he wondered what was behind each. The first couple he opened were very boring... one empty, another pull of pots and pans. He realized he was in a kitchen at that point. He walked toward the largest of the doors in hopes this held something different due to its size. As it opened another light glared down on him from above illuminating shelves and shelves of food and beverages... The refrigerator! He couldnt resist, so he climbed in and had sat on the leftovers wishing he had a mouth to enjoy all these great morsels!

Day 9 - The Fish In The Water

Ducky was enjoying herself, waddling around her caretakers home. She enjoyed all the colors, and could tell that it was well lived in. She found a bedroom, a kitchen, and a pretty large living room. Ducky heard a familiar sound, one she knew very well. It was the sound of running water. As she moved toward the sound she was surprised to see that it was contained. She had never seen this before, and was very intrigued. As she got closer she saw that there was something inside. It was a fish, but why would a fish be in this water box? "Hello?" she said. "Hi, how are you? Welcome!" said the fish in the tank. "I am Ducky, who are you?" she said. "I'm Blarney, its a pleasure" said the fish. "What are you doing in this water box?" Ducky asked. "It's my tank, I live here" said Blarney. "Wow, do you like it" she asked. "You bet I do. It's all mine, and our caretaker takes great care of me. She plays with me through the glass, feeds me well, and keeps my tank clean. It's the best life ever, I have not a care in the world!" Blarney stated. "Well, then I guess we're pretty lucky to be here, huh?" asked Ducky. "You bet we are. Enjoy it! and welcome again... come visit any time" proclaimed Blarney. "Thank you!" said a very enthusiastic Ducky.

Day 8 - Duck Out of Water

Sure the showers were great, the room all to herself, all the benefits of being all to herself... but she was not completely satisfied... she wanted more, she was curious! As she looked out the doorway from her room she could tell there was much more to see, and she could hear noises that made her wonder what was around the corner. She was brave, confident, strong... she knew she could go forth and be safe... after all, her caretaker was nice and good to her, why should she fear anything? As she stood in the doorway she felt butterlies, goosebumps, and excitement. She wasnt quite sure why, but she had a feeling that this was going to be the best thing to ever happen to her, and she couldnt wait to get out there!

Day 7 - Friends For Life

After being pulled to safety, Woody took a seat to relax from the fright. He looked at his new friend and was very excited that he had found someone to talk to. “Thank you so much, I cant explain how grateful I am to you”, said Woody. “Not a problem friend, it was nothin!” said this new man, “The name’s Woody!” “Huh?” asked Woody, “but my name is Woody”. “Well fancy that, we’re both Woody!!” said the new Woody. They smiled at each and shook hands. The new Woody explained to Woody that he had been on that shelf for years. He was quite pleased with the location considering he could see everything from that spot. He did venture when he first arrived, but there was too much to see, and decided to go back to his shelf. Everything he would need to see he could see from there. The two shared stories of previous homes in department stores and boxes. They got along very well.

Day 6 - The Climb

As Woody climbed his way up the large structure, he noticed that each level had some sort of item on it. He just knew the higher he got he would find something worth seeing! By the third level he got a little tired, and rested in what he assumed was a basket until he regained the drive to progress higher. He continued on his trek, and just as he was about to reach the very top he lost his gripping and almost fell. The only thing that kept him from falling was one hand holding strong. He feared the worst. He knew the fall would definitely break a leg, if not break him completely. As he looked up, he saw a small hand reaching out to him. “Grab on Partner!! I’ll pull ya up!” Woody was beyond elated. He swung his other arm over to grab onto his new hero, and was pulled up swiftly!

Day 5 - Discovery

Woody mastered walking in no time, all it took was a little balance, and before he knew it he was leaping off the table he was placed on and was off on his own little adventure. At first he didn’t find much… some papers, paint, random photos, but nothing or no one to talk to, just things. He walked around, not sure where to start, but saw something in the distance that intrigued him. As he walked on, for what felt like miles, he came across a large structure. He looked at it intently and realized that he could definitely climb this structure, and was determined to do so. Who knew what would be waiting for him along the way, and he was excited to find out. Looking up at the large structure he was a little apprehensive due to its enormous height, but confident that it would be worth it. He waited his whole life for adventure, and here it was.

Day 4 - The Benefits

Now on her own, Ducky was feeling more independent than she ever had. She had her own bathroom to hang out in. She was loving her new digs. The shower was huge, the sink nice and deep, and god forbid she was pressed for some water, she knew the toilet was clean, her caretaker was a clean freak. The bathroom itself was nice too, decorated like the sea with fish and awesome colors. She was curious what was behind the door, but she also wasn’t ready to venture further. Then again, why would she have to? She had never had a shower all to herself before, and she definitely wasn’t ready to give that up just yet!!

More to come... :)

Day 3 - The New Girl

In another room of the caretaker’s house, another new entity was curious about the new world surrounding her. She was a tough girl, but still very vulnerable in many ways. Made of a plastic/rubber material, she hated the idea that she was just like everyone else in her enormous family. She needed to break free, be her own duck and not fit into the typical stereotypes that plagued her every day. She would not smile all the time, and she would not remain a perfect a yellow. She just would not conform. She got her first tattoo when she was only a few days old, and from there she continued her body modifications. She looks nothing like her brothers and sisters and couldn’t be happier about it. She’s a badass and she loves it!!!

Day 2 - First Steps

As luck would have it, Woody’s caretaker was also not a fan of Woody’s pole and decided to find a way to remove it. She decided to keep it close by in case of photographic emergencies, but with all intents and purposes, it was removed, and Woody was very happy! The only catch… Woody had never before walked on his two feet. He unfortunately did not know how to walk, and instantly fell to his knees. But Woody was smart, he knew that he could still move around, even if it meant crawling, and nothing was going to get in his way of exploring his new home and taking full advantage of his ultimate release.

to be continued again...

Day 1 - The Beginning

It was a cool fall day when Woody’s life finally began. Born originally in Sweden (IKEA) he had since been on a shelf for months just waiting to be picked up. The day it finally happened he was overjoyed. He knew that this was the start of something new. Woody was holding onto hopes that maybe, just maybe, his new caretaker would have other Woody’s from far away lands that he could be friends with, or even a girl to love for all time. His first day was full of excitement. He traveled in a bag in the trunk of a car for a few hours, but once released from the plastic confines, he knew he was more free than ever before! If only he could get this pole removed, he would be completely free to be himself.

to be continued....
